With established international and national artists performing, as well as our own emerging student artists, this year is set to be a vibrant, creative, and energetic time at the UQ School of Music. César Franck at 200: Organ recital by Graeme Morton

Continuing the short festival at St John's Cathedral to commemorate the 200th anniversary year of Franck's birth, Graeme Morton (Director of Music, St John's Cathedral) will present an all-Franck recital immediately following Evensong on Saturday 13 November, featuring the dramatic Pastorale, and the first Choral.

Journey from cellist to musician: Milestones and strategies of action and mentors

Using Swidler’s cultural toolkit as a theoretical framework, Dominic Fitzgerald sets out to demonstrate how a music teacher-practitioner's journey is a continuum of discoveries and acquisition of strategies of thinking, being and doing.

Synchronous Vibrations

SignWaves, a collective of flautists from The University of Queensland, will present Synchronous Vibrations. This concert embraces a diverse range of repertoire of varying ensemble strengths from solo flute to flute choir. Synchronous Vibrations will feature works by our own Monash Lal, a specialist in flute ensemble composition.

Percussion Dynamics

Dr Mary Broughton will join Jacob Enoka and Angus Wilson to present an afternoon of percussion music. The concert will also feature UQ students Ella Kay-Butterworth and William Elvin, who has arranged Histoire du Tango (1986) for flute and percussion. There will be an opportunity to contribute to UQ research at this concert.

Robert Davidson: Diary Pages
