Auditionees are required to submit an unedited video of their audition recorded in a single take. Please upload the video to Youtube as an “unlisted video” and send the link to music@uq.edu.au with the statement below copied into the email. A Skype or telephone interview will be arranged at the discretion of the audition panel.

Video auditions must be received by 5pm Friday 29 September.

Please remember that in addition to your audition, you must also apply for a place in your chosen Bachelor of Music (Hons) program:

  • Domestic students and international students currently undertaking year 12 studies in Australia must apply through the Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre (QTAC): Please refer to the QTAC website www.qtac.edu.au for details of closing dates for the submission of applications.
  • The major QTAC offer round for Bachelor of Music (Hons) is 17 November 2017, however for music dual degrees (Bachelor of Music (Hons)/Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Music (Hons)/Bachelor of Education (Secondary), or Bachelor of Music (Hons)/Bachelor of Science), the major offer round is 16 January 2018. If you would like to secure your place in the Bachelor of Music (Hons) single program in December, and still be considered for a dual program in the January offer round, please list the BMus(Hons) single program as your highest eligible preference.
Invitation: The Alumni Friends of UQ Golden Jubilee Concert

We are pleased to offer you three complimentary tickets to the School of Music’s ‘The Alumni Friends of UQ Golden Jubilee Concert’ at QPAC on Sunday 15 October, beginning at 2pm. The University of Queensland School of Music presents the UQ Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Dr Warwick Potter, and its own keyboard Ensemble in Residence, the Viney-Grinberg Piano Duo, in a special concert commemorating the Golden Jubilee of the Alumni Friends of UQ. Drs Liam Viney and Anna Grinberg will be the dual soloists in Mozart's beloved Piano Concerto No. 10 in Eb Major, K.365. This program also features Australian composer Elena Kats-Chernin’s homage to the Argentinian tango master Astor Piazzolla, Recollecting ASTORoids, and will conclude with William Walton’s powerfully emotional Symphony No. 1 in Bb minor.
