Positive relationships between engaging with the arts and a person's health and wellbeing in later life has influenced the expansion of arts programs across communities and in residential care. Taking music as a test case for wider creative engagement, the traditional tools and technologies that we use to access, engage with and make music present distinct barriers to adults as they grow older and their preferences and abilities potentially change. This webinar discusses how we might look to the future in the way we design musical tools and interfaces for older adults, including those living with dementia, such that their needs and desires for music-making are reflected in how programs and interventions such as these are delivered.
