Playing with structure: the performance of musical analysis

The Creative Collaboratorium presents John Rink, Professor of Musical Performance Studies and a Fellow of St John's College, Cambridge, on 'Playing with structure: the performance of musical analysis'.

The seminar addresses the progression from ‘analysis’ to ‘performance analysis’. Through the lens of a Chopin case study, this presentation will demonstrate how musical structure is not immanent but instead is actively created by performers, listeners, and other agents.

Entry is free, all are welcome.
