The Amadeus Orchestra and the UQ Singers will be joining forces to present an afternoon of operatic favourites at Chapel Hill Uniting Church.


The Amadeus orchestra is a 30 piece symphony orchestra that regularly delights audiences across the South-east corner. Their conductor, UQ alumni Lachlan Snow, is a musical director for an array of instrumental and vocal ensembles in Brisbane. 


Consisting of vocal majors from the University of Queensland School of Music, the UQ Singers will provide the chorus and soloists for the afternoon in Chapel Hill. With a program full to the brim with overtures, choruses, duets and arias, this concert will give keep the opera tragic satisfied but will also provide an excellent overview and introduction to the novice classical music and opera lover. Highlights of the program include Mascagni's Intermezzo and Bizet's Habenera as well as a Flute Concertino by Chaminade with flautist Sandy Chou and harpist Janita Billingham.
