Amy's research question investigates what contributes to the decision a student makes to study a particular instrument during tertiary education. Through a contextual review and analysis of current research in related fields, Amy will discuss the impact of her topic, her choice of metholdogy and research findings to date.

Zachary Cassard is a 4th year pre-medical composition student at the University of Queensland. He is a clarinettist and singer with a research focus towards the emotions music can convey to listeners. He aspires to write rock-influenced, rhythmically complex music in classical settings to offer audiences approachable yet challenging emotional experiences.
