Join us for a special event - part retrospective, part glimpse of the future, as composer and broadcaster Andrew Ford (The Music Show, Radio National) leads discussions and performances in celebration of the career of Patricia Pollett. Professor Pollett retired from her formal role at the University of Queensland in 2017, and this event honours her 30 year contribution to the UQ Music community.

Patricia will perform with White Halo Ensemble (Patricia Pollett, Adam Chalabi, Patrick Murphy and Liam Viney) - a group she has been a member of since its inception. An ensemble of Patricia's former students (Matthew Ryan, Kieran Welch and Flora Cawte) will also perform Rob Davidson's Arch for three violas.

Andrew Ford is a composer, writer and broadcaster on ABC National. He and Patricia have shared a long friendship since Andrew's arrival to Australia in 1983. Patricia has performed his work Swansong (1987) countless times over the years, inevitably making it 'her own', resulting in the 7 minute composition becoming 10 minutes! Patricia's reinterpretation of Swansong is now its most well known version.
