CANTERBURY COLLEGE

Trio Bellissimo

This ensemble is made up of George Li (Year 2), Isabella Oxenbridge (Year 4) and Haydn Li (Year 5) and they have been working together since the beginning of this year.  Each are very talented in their own right, but coming together in a trio is a new experience for them all.  Mr Tim Li rehearses with them each week and create appropriate challenges for them.  They have performed throughout the year and have won Redlands Eisteddfod and Beenleigh Quota Eisteddfod.

Repertoire

  • Trio in G Major Op.330 No.2 “Trout” - Carl Bohm

Ritornello

Ritornello is Canterbury College’s auditioned string ensemble featuring the most advanced string players of the school. Ritornello has performed and competed with a large scope of repertoire at many events during 2018. Some of the most memorable performances thus far include Arts Festival and winning performances at both Redlands and Beenleigh Eisteddfods. Their repertoire is vast and varied from baroque music to romantic music and contemporary composers. Everything that is played by Ritornello is played with passion and is sure to sizzle.

Ms Helena Munoz Fernandez conducts Ritornello and has taken them to be one of the best String ensembles in the state.  The level of difficulty within the repertoire chosen extends the students while still creating a great sense of achievement.  Her innate musicality and passion for Canterbury’s string players pushes them to new heights. Ms Munoz’s dedication to each student and to the ensemble as a whole can be seen in the amazing performances they create each year.
