Li Xin, a visiting scholar from Xi’an, China, is an Associate Professor at the Music College of Shaanxi Normal University, where she teaches vocal music and supervises Masters' students. She is a member of the Chinese Musicians Association, and the Vice-chairman of the Xi’an Qinhan New City Music and Dance Association. Her main research and teaching areas are Chinese national vocal music and Chinese poetry songs.
In recent years, she has published several papers in national core journals and a graded textbook of Classic Chinese poetry and songs titled, The Selections. In September 2003, she won the first prize at the Fifth Shaanxi Professional Vocal Music Competition in the youth professional category of Chinese national music. In 2021, she won the second prize in the individual all-round performance and the individual single prize in Teaching Demonstration in the teachers’ category at the National Undergraduate Music Education Students’ and Teachers’ Basic Skills Competition for General Universities of the Ministry of Education.
Ms Xin has performed as a guest soloist at the Northern Shaanxi Folk Songs into Vienna – New Year Concert, which was held in the Golden Hall of Vienna with the Czech National Symphony Orchestra in 2010. In recent years she has visited Austria, Germany, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, the United States, Mongolia, and other countries to carry out cultural exchange and performance activities.
Ru Jia is a Lyric Coloratura Soprano and a lecturer at the School of Music of Shaanxi Normal University where she supervises Masters' students. She was invited to study in Germany and Italy and performed at the Rossini Festival during her postgraduate studies. Ms Jia was praised as having the most suitable voice for singing Bellini's by German media and she was awarded the first prize of the 4th Shaanxi Provincial Music Award in the professional young vocalist category. She won the second prize of the 3rd Chuncheon International Vocal Competition in Korea and the 5th Kongque Prize for the National College Vocal Music Professional Competition Teacher's Group Excellence Award
Last year she was awarded second place in the 13th China Music JinZhong Awards (Shaanxi Region) and also entered the national audition for this competition.
In recent years, she has published core papers, written a monograph on music education, and presided over provincial social science research projects.
