Margaret Nickson Prize for Voice and Accompaniment

Current voice and piano students are invited to apply for the 2020 Margaret Nickson Prize for Voice and Accompaniment.

Margaret Nickson Prize for Voice and PIANO (not “accompaniment”) Repertoire Requirements:

  • Must include Four songs – one from each categories below:
  1. German Lied
  2. French melodie/chanson
  3. Handel/Purcell
  4. Russian song

About the Prize

Margaret Nickson established this prize while a lecturer in singing at the University of Queensland in 1977. Following her death in 2002, the prize has been maintained by a biennial gift from former student and international operatic soprano Lisa Gasteen.
