Student Ensemble Auditions

Auditions for places in the School of Music Student Ensembles are held in February each year.

Students enrolled in the Bachelor of Music (Honours) program are required to audition for ensemble membership, and do not have to lodge an application form.

  • Strings, brass, woodwind and percussion BMus(Hons) students must audition for the University of Queensland Symphony Orchestra
  • All other BMus(Hons) students must audition for UQ Chorale

Students who are enrolled in other programs must apply to audition for ensemble membership. If successful in the audition process, students may enrol in Large Ensemble courses, either as elective courses in their Bachelors degree or as required courses in the Diploma in Music Performance. Please fill in an audition application form (click on 'Apply to Audition' below) and send it to The School of Music
