UQ School of Music's Early Music Performance Project presents the Play of Daniel, a 13th-century liturgical drama from northern France. Written by students at Beauvais Cathedral around 1230, the Play of Daniel tells the story of Daniel and the lions' den, and is a rare example of a dramatic musical work predating the birth of modern opera. Our production features the Early Music Performance Ensemble, the UQ Singers, and early instrumentalists Aaron Brown (rebec) and Ian Ahles (lute).
