Ashlyn Keiler (b.2004) is a Brisbane based composer whose works have been described as ‘spine-tingling’ and ‘compellingly communicative’. Her work Spiral Song for flute quartet was recently premiered at the UQ Art Museum as a feature of the UQ School of Music Festival Spectrum concert collection. Ashlyn has been a member of the Sketch ensemble since 2023, where she was involved in a film-scoring project for Nosferatu as well as various other projects. Earlier this year, her choral piece, Afterglow, was workshopped with John Rotar and The Australian Voices. Ashlyn is in her third year at The University of Queensland, studying composition with Dr Robert Davidson and Dr Lisa Cheney. She has previously studied with Erik Griswold, as well as studying violin with Courtenay Cleary and Adam Chalabi. Ashlyn is also studying chemistry and is currently composing a collection of works inspired by interesting theories in chemistry.
