Eline van Bruggen is a Dutch-Australian soprano, and is currently studying a Bachelor of Music and Arts majoring in Classical Vocal Performance, Linguistics, and Professional Writing & Communication at the University of Queensland. This year, Eline was the soprano soloist for Haydn’s Mass in Time of War with ChoirWorks and debuted the role of Galatea in Indooroopilly Chamber Orchestra’s performances of Handel’s Acis and Galatea in concert. Eline has toured to Winton and Longreach with Opera Queensland for the 2023 and 2024 Festivals of Outback Opera, and has performed with Lucem Vitae as well as part of Brisbane Festival. Her operatic roles include Ciboletta in Eine Nacht in Venedig and Erste Knabe in Die Zauberflöte in the University of Queensland's complete productions, as well as Frasquita in Carmen, Crobyle in Thaïs, Ida in Die Fledermaus, Anne in A Little Night Music, Inès in Les Bavards, and Poppea in L'incoronazione di Poppea in staged concert excerpts. Eline is also an accomplished flautist, having won the 4MBS Musica Viva Sid Page Memorial Prize in Chamber Music and been invited to perform a recital at the 2023 Australian Flute Festival in Sydney with her ensemble, Jacaranda Flute Collective. Eline looks forward to singing the role of Susanna in the University of Queensland’s full production of Le Nozze di Figaro later this year.
