Get ready for a morning of brilliant music as Winds Across the Lakes brings the sounds of the UQ School of Music to the Amphitheatre! Featuring Patterns in Blue, UQ’s exciting clarinet ensemble, performing works by Byrd alongside a vibrant collection of new compositions by young UQ composers (Chelsea Bode, Curtis Morgan, Ciara Clunies-Roos and Alun Cook). The UQ Harmonie Ensemble joins them with music by Mozart and Krommer, showcasing the colour, energy and versatility of the wind ensemble. With all ensembles mentored and directed by Paul Dean, this concert celebrates both the rich traditions of wind music and the creativity of a new generation of composers and performers.
