Join us for an afternoon of musical innovation as Sketch Ensemble presents original compositions by its members and collaborators from the UQ School of Music community.

Born in the wake of COVID-19 lockdowns, Sketch Ensemble has quickly established itself as a driving force for new music at The University of Queensland. Under the guidance of Dr Robert Davidson—founding artistic director of the award-winning ensemble Topology—these talented musicians push the boundaries of contemporary sound. The program showcases the ensemble's diverse creative approach, featuring premieres that range from Japanese animation and video game-inspired arrangements to animated notation and live film scores. Experience compositions that dialogue with natural environments, offering a unique sonic journey that celebrates both musical tradition and bold experimentation.

Presented as part of 'Spectrum', The University of Queensland School of Music's annual music festival at UQ St Lucia, and proudly associated with UQ Arts.
