Dots+Loops presents Swiss duo iipm project, the creation of Phoebe Bognár (AUS) and Mikołaj Rytowski (PL). Taking everything you know about flute and percussion and turning it on its head, iipm project dives headlong into Uncanny Valley for unbounded performative, post-instrumental exploration.

For their UQ Lunchtime Concert, iipm project presents the Australian premiere of Figures + Fixtures, a program exploring their multifaceted identities through three works commissioned by and created in collaboration with the duo. Anna Sowa's Lubricant creates a distinctive, hypnotic dialogue between flute and percussion, emphasizing sonorous and trance-rhythmic elements, cross-pollinating techniques from one instrument to the other. In Elizabeth Jigalin’s EARBUDS, the duo playfully delve into a sandpit of sonic delights. In MAGONOTE by Yanik Soland the performance takes a voyeuristic turn, the audience watching on as iipm project plays for a mannequin head (representing the composer) on stage who records and reimagines the performance from their perspective.
