Ensemble Sooon is a collective of creatives curated by Danielle Bentley and Martin Kay. For several years, and across multiple recording and live shows, a unique aesthetic has been forged, foregrounding explorations of composition and improvisation, new forms leaning into the accessible, the quirky, the irreverent, the virtuosic, and the delightfully sensitive. Each concert weaves a sonic narrative. Today Ensemble Sooon features Martin Kay on saxophone and bass clarinet. Danielle Bentley on cello, and Toby Wren on guitar and pedals. Toby is a creative force well versed in burrows, the vast labyrinthine tunnels from whence timbre and time emerge. Danielle Bentley is renowned for her earthy and sensitive cello tone. Martin Kay brings his quirky compositions and multi-dimensional saxophone playing.
