Join the vocal-piano duos of the 2025 Queensland Art Song Festival academy as they present their learning and progress in the closing recital of their masterclass series, lead by Benjamin Appl and Sholto Kynoch. These six young duos from the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University and The University of Queensland School of Music will showcase a variety of works, with a special focus on the Art Songs of Robert Schumann. This free lunchtime concert is the perfect way to step into the world of Art Song.

 

The Queensland Art Song Festival

The Queensland Art Song Festival in 2025 heralds a week-long celebration dedicated to the Art Song domain. This pioneering festival aims to open doors to specialised training within the internationally recognised Art Song sphere by inviting leading global authorities to Australia. These experts are set to offer invaluable and stimulating educational and professional growth opportunities to emerging Australian musicians through a curated series of masterclasses and lectures.

The festival's agenda includes performances by students and faculty; showcases local and international artists; insightful talks by foremost specialists in Art Song; initiatives to enhance public engagement with the genre; and continuous career advice and support for participants.

This event is a collaboration between The University of Queensland School of Music, Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University and Queensland Art Song Festival.
