From classical to contemporary soundscapes, join us for a festival of music at UQ St Lucia. 

  3–5 May 2024

We are delighted to announce the inaugural School of Music Festival, animating the beautiful St Lucia campus across 3 days in May. Culminating in a rare opportunity to hear Terry Riley’s pulsating minimalist masterpiece In C, alongside George Gershwin's beloved Rhapsody in Blue, the festival will feature diverse music from Mozart to the music of 2024 in venues across campus. This festival will traverse the spectrum from sultry Iberian melodies accompanied by 8 cellos, dynamic percussion, thrilling Brass, and collectives of pianists, flautists, composers and singers. In embracing spaces and venues across UQ, we are especially happy to be working with partners including the UQ Art Museum and the Alumni Book Fair.

Melodies among the pages: Chapter 2 presents a curated collection of musical performances showcasing the remarkable talent nurtured by UQ. Set against the backdrop of the Alumni Book Fair, these performances are a confluence of Indigenous narratives, choral harmonies, and orchestral brilliance. Registrations are not required for these concerts - simply show up and enjoy the music!  

Echoes of Iberia: Canciones and Canções
